“An Even Bigger Splash” is a graphic novel, revolving around British artist, David Hockney. It aims to emphasise his artworks and techniques, specifically “Portrait of An Artist (Pool With Two Figures)” (1972), whilst also infusing segments from interviews done with couples, earlier on in the year. This striking sequential narrative shows a story of a girl who falls into Hockney’s world, whereby she gets to interact with the artist himself and sets foot into a whole new dimension.
As an artist, I always enjoy adding a lot of detail to my work, as I would want it to stand out — this also made the process a lot more enjoyable, as I was creating work in my own technique whilst also challenging myself to create work that had a likeness to Hockney’s art.
